I didn't own this album, and I'm not a Grateful Dead follower, but this album cover really stands out. Interestingly, Artist, John Van Hamersveld was hired by the band to design the cover, but had no input from the band. Botticelli's Venus is holding a rose while standing next to a devil-type figure who has a grasp on her arm. A smoking skeleton spins a gold record on his extended middle finger. A flying saucer, 3 men playing cards, and the Johnson Wax Blg (designed by Frank Lloyd Wright)stands in the distance. The 3 men are said to depict Marlon Brando and 2 others from "The Wild Ones" with a possible reference to Jesus. This album was The Grateful Dead's best selling album despite the abrupt mix of music styles.
